A bit about me
I'm Tolu, a software engineer based in Lagos who genuinely enjoys the craft. I've spent 4+ years building production systems in fintech and SaaS — payment engines, APIs, automation pipelines. Somewhere along the way I got deep into AI, and now I build both. The kind of work where getting it wrong costs real money, so you learn to get it right.
Outside of work, I'm usually tinkering on something. That might be Àṣàrò, a meditative reading app my friends and I use to quietly judge each other's reading progress, or building AI agents just to see what breaks first when a new Claude update drops.
I tend to think in systems, ship things that work, and ask uncomfortable questions about why something is built the way it is. That last habit has saved a few production databases.

A financial assistant that answers plain-English questions about your spending, like "How many burgers could I buy if I cut my Uber spend in half?" Built a RAG pipeline that chunks, embeds, and semantically indexes transactions so the LLM always answers from your actual data. No hallucinated numbers.

Find any movie or TV scene by describing it in plain English. Processed 7,600+ subtitle files, encoded them with sentence-transformers, and built a vector search layer on top so users get exact matches instead of endless scrolling.
